After confirming at the machine, your balance will be refunded

Cancel your active OV-chipkaart and request a refund of your balance

After cancellation, you will no longer be able to use your card (including OV-fiets, bike parking or P+R)

The remaining balance will be refunded to your bank account

Only cards that are still valid can be cancelled

If you have Automatic reload (top-up) enabled, there is no need to worry. When you cancel your card, Automatic reload will stop automatically.
No additional balance will be loaded as long as you do not use the card.

Do you have a subscription or other travel products on your card?
Please cancel these first with the public transport company.
