My personal OV-chipkaart with the student travel product is lost/stolen. What should I do?

Block your OV-chipkaart as soon as possible and apply for a replacement card. You can do this as follows:

Step 1. Block your lost card and apply for a replacement card

Block your card as soon as possible. You can do this easily through My OV-chip. Your card is now protected against misuse. The credit on your old card will be returned to your bank account.

You can apply for a replacement card straight away. This costs € 11. You will receive your replacement card within an average of three working days. Until then you will travel at your own expense. See step 2 to apply for a temporary product.


Tip:
Keep your bank account number to hand, for your credit refund.


N.B.: A blocked card can never be used again.

Phone OV-chipkaart Customer Services on 0900-0980 (normal phone cost). The employee will block your personal card. Your card is now protected against misuse.

Please have your bank account number ready. The credit on your old card will be returned to this account. A replacement card costs €11. You will authorise this payment over the telephone. You will receive your replacement card within an average of three working days. Until then you will travel at your own expense. See step 2 to apply for a temporary product.

Step 2. Apply for a temporary student travel product

If you have applied for a replacement card, you will receive this within an average of three working days. You can apply for a temporary student travel product for this period. You apply for this at www.studentenreisproduct.nl (new window). You will find more information and the product terms and conditions here. You will need to provide an anonymous or personal card to load the temporary travel product onto yourself.
