Unfortunately it sometimes happens that internet criminals misuse OV-chipkaart or Translink’s name and logo. They then send emails in which they try to gather our customers’ personal details. It can have unpleasant consequences if you become a victim of this. This information will help you to recognise phishing emails and spam.

How do you check if the email is real?

  • Our emails come from addresses that end in @ov-chipkaart.nl (e.g. info@ov-chipkaart.nl) or @uitcheckgemist.nl.
  • The links in our emails go to www.ov-chipkaart.nl or www.uitcheckgemist.nl
  • We will never ask for personal details in an email (except if you are in contact with customer services).
  • Our emails are service focused: we will not send you any offers or competitions.

  • Never click on links or attachements in emails you do not trust.
  • If it sounds too good to be true, it often is.
  • If in doubt, contact us.
