You no longer wish to travel using the OV-chipkaart e-purse, but would like to keep your smart card? In that case, you can request a refund of your OV-chipkaart e-purse. You can request a refund of your OV-chipkaart e-purse at a Sales and Information Point. A refund is only possible if there is a minimum e-purse balance of €5 on the OV-chipkaart.

Direct reimbursement at a Sales and Information point is possible up to €30, but not for cards with auto reload. An OV-chipkaart with auto reload can only be refunded by using the 'Beëindiging en restitutie van een persoonlijke OV-chipkaart' form.

Sums above €30 are only paid out when the OV-chipkaart is cancelled. The 'Beëindiging en restitutie van een persoonlijke OV-chipkaart' form can be used for this purpose.
