Each time your credit drops below € 5, an amount will automatically be transferred from your bank account to your OV-chipkaart. You can choose from € 10, € 20 or € 50, depending on your travel habits.
If you often travel long distances by train, it is useful for € 50 to be automatically loaded each time. If you travel short distances by bus now and then, your credit will not drop below € 5 as quickly. In this case € 10 each time will be enough.
Application
Automatic reload is only possible on a personal OV-chipkaart. You will provide a single authorisation via iDEAL. You then need to go to a pick-up device with your OV-chipkaart and activate automatic reloading. From then on you will always have sufficient credit on your card.

You can also apply for automatic reloading by post. Complete the application form and post this with a copy of your proof of identity. Processing will take no longer than three weeks.

Changing or terminating
You can change the bank account used or the amount quickly online at any time in My OV-chipkaart. You can also terminate automatic reloading in My OV-chipkaart.

Or download the change form and post a completed copy. You will receive a confirmation and instructions on how to load the change onto your OV-chipkaart within three weeks.
