If you choose to enable automatic reload, you will always have sufficient credit on your OV-chipkaart. As soon as the credit falls below €5, an amount will automatically be loaded onto your OV-chipkaart. This will then be debited from your bank account. You can choose from €10, €20 or €50. Automatic reloading is only possible on a personal OV-chipkaart.
Applying online
You can apply for automatic reloading by providing a single authorisation for your credit to be increased as soon as it drops below €5. You will then need to add automatic reloading onto your card at a pick-up device. We call this activation. Automatic reloading will begin to work from this point.
You can terminate automatic reloading at any time.

Please request the automatic reloading application package. Complete the application form fully and post this with a copy of your proof of identity. Processing your application will take no longer than three weeks.

Changing or terminating automatic reload
Would you like to change the amount or the bank account used? Or terminate automatic reloading? It is quick and easy to notify us of this online, through your My OV-chipkaart account. You will immediately receive instructions on how to load the change onto your OV-chipkaart.

Or download the change form, complete it fully and post it. You will receive a confirmation and instructions on how to load the change onto your OV-chipkaart within three weeks.
