Boarding Rate
When you pay for your journey with the OV-chipkaart e-purse, a boarding rate is temporarily deducted from your OV-chipkaart when you check in.
When you check out, the boarding rate, minus the travel costs, is refunded. If you do not check out, you pay the full boarding rate.
What is the boarding rate?
Please find below the current boarding rates. Please note that you can not check in if your e-purse credit is insufficient to temporarily deduct

Fixed rate
When you travel using the OV-chipkaart e-purse, you pay a fixed rate in addition to the rate per kilometer. This fixed rate is only applicable for
urban and regional public transport. If you transfer within 35 minutes after checking out, you do not have to pay the fixed rate again. You can buy credit in the Webshop.
What is the fixed rate?
The national fixed rate is € 0,75.
