Customer Barometer for public transport positive

Public transport passengers are more satisfied with the OV-chipkaart than ever in 2012. This was the result of the 2012 Customer Barometer for public transport, by the Dutch Knowledge Platform for Traffic and Transport (KpVV). This is an annual study, in which customers complete a written questionnaire and grade services out of ten, whilst using a form of transport. The OV-chipkaart was graded 7.5.

OV-chipkaart found, lost or stolen

If your OV-chipkaart is lost or stolen, or you have found an OV-chipkaart, simply contact OV-Chipkaart Customer Service. If an OV-chipkaart is lost or stolen, please telephone us to report this. Your card will then be blocked immediately and will be protected against misuse. You will receive a new card within seven days. If you have found a card belonging to someone else, you can ask us to destroy it. We recommend that you do not give or send this card to other parties.

Single basic fare from January

From January 2013, most train passengers will no longer pay a double basic fare when transferring from one rail operator to another using an OV-chipkaart. This applies to transfers within the same fare period (peak or off-peak) and within 35 minutes. You pay the basic fare to the rail operator with which you started your journey.

National zone pass

From 1 January 2013, sale of national 1-6 zone passes (weekly, monthly or annual passes) will be discontinued. The public transport companies will be replacing this national zone pass with various regional zone passes. You will still be able to purchase an N-zone pass from January 1, 2013. This pass will remain valid on all buses, trams and metros throughout the Netherlands.
